What is going on everybody as we enter the dog days of Summer I hope you are planning on coming to join us for the 6th Summer Camp Music Festival and BBQ being held this weekend, Sunday August 3rd. It is hard to believe the small party that was started 6 months ago has grown into what it now has become. We had people tripping over stumps at the first event in March, before I pulled all the stumps out of the ground and with the work of some of the best friends in the world built the wonderful 12x16 foot stage. What started with maybe 30 friends coming over to enjoy a janky but fun event BBQ and music even was the basis and you could already feel the great spirit of the event alive and kicking. I only cooked pork butts, but other folks brought food so we had an incredible feast and enjoyed some wonderful talent. I am so proud to still be hosting this with the 6th even this weekend and look forward to continuing this monthly get together.

I have been asked if this is an event that will only be happening during the summer months based on the name of the event? The name “Summer Camp Music festival” is actually the name of my second album from 2008 and I chose to use the super campy/cheesy title as the name of this year long event. I am looking forward to hosting this as the weather cools and the sun goes down earlier. I have stage lights for when it gets dark and cannot wait to get the fire pit and s'mores happening again.
The gates this Sunday will be open at 3 and the music will be kicking off at 4. As usual, we will be having pulled pork, baked beans and macaroni and cheese. The pork is in my fridge dry brining as you read this. The food should be ready around 6.

This month we have a fantastic music set that was actually booked back in April. We are so blessed to have the incredible “Maygen Navarro Trio” playing for 3 hours with a special smooth jazz set during their break provided by insanely talented saxophonist Richard Jay.
The lineup for this month is:
4:00-4:45 Christian Summer
5:00-6:30ish Maygen Navarro Trio https://maygennavarro.com/
6:30ish - 7:00 Richard Jay
7:00ish - 8:00ish Maygen Navarro Trio
If you are planning on coming please bring chairs, drinks and some food to share. It would be great if somebody brought some store bought fried chicken or other protein to help keep the food going. Also remember this is a family friendly event and review the rules which can be found here https://christiansummermusic.com/summer-camp-music-fest.
I love all of you and cannot wait to see everybody again this month.
With God's Peace and Blessings
-Christian Summer
PS Richard and Lucy Jay have 4 labradoodle puppies they will be bringing to try to find homes for. If interested come please call the number on the flier below. Thanks
